Meet the team
Michael Schiestel
Business/ Operations Manager
Meet Michael, the remodeling industry’s seasoned veteran with over 30 years of experience. (That’s longer than most of the gadgets in your kitchen have been alive!) As the operations whiz for Detail Kitchens, Michael is on a mission to find new products, streamline business processes, and create a work environment that’s so great, it might even make Mondays tolerable. Now, with the addition of Suburban Trim and Glass, he's also tackling technical and administrative challenges like a superhero in a toolbelt.
When he's not working on making your dream kitchen a reality, Michael moonlights as a coach and mentor for INCubatorEDU. He helps high school students launch and run startup businesses—think of it as Shark Tank, but without the biting. And if you’re wondering how he has time for all this, he's also the Technical Director at Cary-Grove High School, where he teaches students to design, build, and run the backstage magic of theatrical performances. Talk about a guy who really knows how to set the stage!
But Michael’s talents don’t stop there. He’s a dad joke aficionado, spending quality time with his wife, April, and twins, Paige and Noah. (Yes, twins! Double the trouble, double the fun.) When he's not cracking puns, you’ll find him hanging out with is favorite furry friend “Fern”, kayaking, camping, hiking, and enjoying pretty much any outdoor activity that doesn’t involve a spreadsheet.
So, whether it’s whipping up a new kitchen design or mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs, Michael is your go-to guy. Just don't be surprised if he sneaks in a dad joke or two while he's at it!
Lisa Migut
Designer
Meet Lisa, our resident kitchen and bath magician with an Associate’s degree in Interior Design from Harper College, specializing in making your culinary and bathing dreams come true.
For the past 9 years, Lisa has been an essential part of the Detail Kitchens design team, passionately transforming kitchens (and occasionally baths). As she puts it, "creating beautiful kitchens and bathrooms is what I was born to do." She’s on a mission to create spaces that not only reflect her clients’ personalities but also complement their style with flair and finesse.
Lisa’s secret weapons? A gifted talent in AutoCAD and the ability to create stunning renderings in AutoKitchen that make her clients feel like they’ve already moved into their new space. When it comes to designing, she thrives on the challenge of turning a client’s vision into reality. Her ultimate goal? To make your old kitchen so functional and beautiful that every time you walk in, you wonder, “Is this really my kitchen?”
When she’s not conjuring up fabulous designs, Lisa is a dessert-making extraordinaire. She also spends quality time with her other passion: Carlton, a 90 lb. yellow lab full of love, energy, and a knack for mischief. Carlton keeps Lisa on her toes while she works from home, frequently sneaking her mouse off the table or attempting to swipe her flash drive. (We suspect he’s plotting his own design takeover!)
So, whether you’re dreaming of a stunning kitchen makeover or just want to hear some fun stories about Carlton’s latest antics, Lisa is your go-to gal.
